Marco Puyo is a dreamer and a permanent generator of new projects, he worked for 26 years in important Chilean wineries, allowing him to know in detail the different the different terroirs of the country. On an International level, he carried out vintages in Bordeaux, Champagne and Burgundy in France, Napa in United States and in Uco Valley in Argentina.
Today he makes his own wines as an outcome of this long learning, which reflect its spirt to make wines of origin, fresh, vibrant and full of energy.
He was born in Santiago, Chile in the year 1966, where he lived until he finished his studies. He graduated as an Agronomist with a major in Winemaking at the Pontificia Universidad Católica of Chile in 1991 and received the Diploma of Winemaker in 1992. Later he worked in one of the most relevant wine groups in the world, Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), as Chief Winemaker of this project in Chile, Viña Los Vascos in Colchagua Valley, he is one of the winemakers who helped to achieve the worldwide recognition of this Valley.
Years later he became Director of Winemaking at Viña San Pedro Tarapacá, the second most important wine group in Chile, where he made wines like “Altaïr”, “Cabo de Hornos”, “Sideral”, “Kankana del Elqui” and “Tierras Moradas”. In the year 2018, he left this position to dedicate himself entirely to Viña DAGAZ.
During the years 2004 and 2005 he was Director of the Chilean Winemakers Association, participating in the creation of the “Carmenere al Mundo” (Carmenere to the World) contest, which has helped to show Chile as the main producer of this variety.
